Hello! I don’t often show my face on here, so

Hello!
I don’t often show my face on here, so I thought I’d tell you a bit about the renovation geek behind Blakes Of Sydney.
During my 15 years in the kitchen and renovation industry, I would hear horror story after horror story from my design clients, largely because they didn’t have the time, the experience or the connections to the right people who could do the best job.
Renovators had the challenge of getting people to turn up to quote, pushy salespeople with their own interests, and builders or kitchen companies who went missing during a job. And they had no one to turn to for advice when communication broke down.
Many never wanted to renovate again, which frustrated me. I could see the problem wasn’t the renovation; the problem was the team.
Clients would ask me to recommend great suppliers (builders, kitchen companies and joiners) who could make their renovation happen as smoothly as the kitchen design.
That’s when my wife, Emily, suggested that the mortgage broker model was exactly what the renovation industry needed. This model has since enabled me to follow my passion of helping people while also combatting the challenges faced by renovators.
I feel so fortunate to be living my dream of running a family business with my wife and having a great team behind me. When I’m not working (which is rare when you own a small business!), you can find me pursing some kind of sport, whether it be surfing, tennis or golf, or simply lapping up time with my family.

What a great start to the year! We have completed the joinery check measure for our Kensington project in collaboration with AJP Constructions @ajp.constructions & Stukel Architecture @stukelarchitecture .
We are working closely with them and the joiner that we connected them to, to bring the incredible designs of Stukel’s Architecture team to life.
We couldn’t be happier about being part of this amazing project and working with such a talented team.
